CoxSchepp Group, LLC is an employee owned company based in Charlotte, NC that provides construction and related services to businesses, developers and real estate professionals. Founded in 2011, CoxSchepp purchased the assets of its predecessor company (Cox & Schepp, Inc.), which completed nearly $1 billion of successful construction and development projects throughout the Southeast between 2002 and 2011 and was ranked as one of the top 400 general contractors in the United States.

The firm is comprised of experts representing the fields of estimating, construction, finance, design, and technology, each with 15 to 30 years of direct industry experience, allowing it to provide services beyond the scope of a typical general contractor. CoxSchepp specializes in providing value-added services including design-build, real estate and construction due diligence, entitlement review, and financial and pro forma assistance.

Jim Schepp
Jim Schepp is the founder of CoxSchepp Construction and has over 40 years of practice in the construction industry. He is a licensed General Contractor in North and South Carolina, having experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, logistics, retail, banking, and hospitality construction throughout the Southeastern United States.
Jim Schepp is a past member of the North Carolina Economic Development Association, the Charlotte Chamber, South Carolina Economic Development Association, board member of the Charlotte Regional Commercial Board of Realtors, and the Governor’s Task Force for Economic Development for the state of Virginia.
In his time off, Mr. Schepp enjoys time with his family, traveling, golf, skiing, hiking, fishing, and hunting.
Scott Wilson began with Cox Schepp in 2010 and became a Partner in 2016. Scott Wilson formally worked with Skidmore Ownings and Merrill, KPF and KMD and was a Partner at Gresham Smith Prior to coming to Cox Schepp. Scott brings his Architectural education and 30 years of design and construction experience to every project. He enjoys working from initial design discussion to final punchlist ensuring that the client's expectations are being met throughout the entire construction process. Scott has won several international design competitions and has served on several boards including the German American Cultural Foundation and the Charlotte Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Scott has degrees in Architecture from North Carolina State University and Leicester England.
John Cunningham
John Cunningham is a Partner and Field Operations Manager with CoxSchepp Construction. John began his construction career in residential remodeling, and now has over 15 years in the commercial construction industry. John’s project portfolio includes high profile data centers, Sr. Living, Multifamily, Industrial, Office, and Medical.
John’s field experience over the years is defined by his passion for quality and safety on all his projects. John also has a high level of personal pride and integrity in managing a project from start to finish.
John graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. John is married to his wife Haley, and they have a son, Jay. John and his wife are dog lovers and have 3 of their own, including a black lab (Earl), a yellow lab (Chuck), and an Italian greyhound (Pre).
Michael Gossenreiter is a Partner and Senior Project Manager at CoxSchepp with over a decade of experience in the construction industry. He has worked on all types of projects ranging from multifamily to commercial retail. Michael utilizes his experience to work with and guide our team and deliver projects that exceed client expectations, all while creating a positive working environment.
Michael attended Appalachian State University where he graduated with a degree in Building Sciences. After graduating, he traveled for several years, and finally settled in Charlotte 7 years ago. Michael is a fan of Charlotte FC and the Carolina Panthers, attending games in his free time. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf and doing hands-on projects around the house.
